About Our Church

 Church History

Christian Fellowship Assembly is affiliated with the Assemblies of God headquartered in Springfield, MO, and as such, adhears to the doctrines of the demonimation.  Our local church is governed by the Pastor and Board, with an annual congregational meeting each February.

The church began in 1982 with the vision of Odell Cochran and his wife Selva to see a full-gospel fellowship come to Tunnel Hill, GA.  Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, a building was purchased on the corner of Church and Cemetery Streets, and services began.  Those first meetings were small as the group gathered around the fire place in what was once the Lions Club building, but as the word got out, the congregation grew.  Odell pastored the church until the early 1990's when his son-in-law Dan Hocker and his wife Crystal became pastor.  Pastor Dan continues to lead the congregation today.

In the new millinium, Odell shared his vision for the church to expand its facility in order to accommodate continued growth.  The current property was purchased in 2010, and the first service was held at the current location on Chattanooga Avenue in late September 2013.  Work continues to improve the property and add to the facility as the Lord blesses.

Ministries

SUNDAY SCHOOL - We teach the Word of God each week in classes geared toward various age groups as a way to grow and learn spiritually.

JUST KIDS - Our children's church engages those age 12 and under each week in worship during the morning service.

ROYAL RANGERS - an activity-based, small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. Our mission is to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders.

GIRLS MINISTRIES - a church-based discipleship program that has a legacy of godly women coming alongside girls, guiding them on a path to become mature and godly women.

MISSIONS - Our church currently helps support several Assemblies of God missionaries around the world, plus locally the Women's Enrichment Center and Soul Station Ministries.  Wednesday night offerings go toward these causes.
